Synthesis and structure of a new layered niobium blue bronze: Rb{sub 2}LaNb{sub 2}O{sub 7}
- Rutherford Appleton Lab., Oxon (United Kingdom)
- Univ. of Birmingham (United Kingdom)
Rb{sub 2}LaNb{sub 2}O{sub 7} was synthesized and the structure was determined by neutron diffraction. The compound crystallizes in an orthorhombic lattice. In the layered structure, double perovskite layers generated from octahedrally coordinated niobium are separated by paris of rubidium ions.
