Influence of attachment parameters on the amplitude-frequency characteristics of a reinforced cylindrical shell
- S.P. Timoshenko Inst. of Mechanics, Kiev (Ukraine)
The amplitude-frequency characteristics of reinforced laminar cylindrical shells are determined within the framework of classical theory based on the hypothesis of undeformed normals for the assembly as a whole. Nonlinear relations between the displacements and deformation of the shell are employed. Formulas for the resistance of the materials are used for the reinforcing elements. It is assumed that the connection of the reinforcing elements to the shell ensures that the flexures are equal and the angles of rotation of the normals of the shells are equal to the torsional angles of the reinforcing elements. The solution of the problem is based on an energy approach, using a mixed method of describing the stress-strain state of the shell in vibration. 3 refs., 2 figs.
