Determination of the coupling constants $sup 3$Hdn, $sup 3$$H$$sup 3$$H$$pi$, and $sup 3$He$sup 3$He$pi$ from data on the differential cross sections of n$sup 3$H and n$sup 3$He elastic scattering
A determination of the coupling constants /sup 3/Hdn, /sup 3/H/sup 3/H pi , an d /sup 3/He/sup 3/He pi from existing dlfferential cross section data for data and data elastic scattering was carried out. The method is based on the extrapolation of d sigma /d OMEGA to the deuteron and Pion poles, exploiting conformal mapping techniques. Calculations result in a value of the /sup 3/Hdn coupling constant which is approximately 20% smaller than dispersion relation predictions. A comparison of the value obtained with predictions based on nuclear models allows one to discriminate between different potentials. The residue at the pion pole turns out to be too weak and the conclusion is drawn that it is impossible to determine the coupling constants /sup 3/H/sup 3/H pi and /sup 3/He/sup 3/He pi on the basis of existing data.
