Wave packets of relativistic electrons

It is shown that wave packets of the delta -function type can be constructed without invoking negative energies. The position uncertainty is computed for a typical packet. Unlike the purely diffusive spreading known from nonrelativistic quantum mechanics, the relativistic wave packets always have a wave-like precursor on the light cone. (auth)
