An efficient systematic method has been worked out for the selection of commercial plant sites for the chemical industry. The steps involved are described together with the type of data normally required. The typical procedure was readily expanded to fit the search for the reactor site which later became tbe Savanna River Plant. The account of this search is used to illustrate the significant factors in reactor-site selection. (auth)
