Title: Circular MHD flow in crossed electrical and magnetic fields (in Russian)

Abstract

In order to explain the nonmonotonic dependence of the energy of turbulent pulsations of the longitudinal component of the velocity as a function of the magnetic field in circular flow, measured earlier with a thermoanemometer of a narrow type, analogous measurements were carried out with a wide-type meter which did not perturb the flow. In this case with increasing magnetic field the pulsations fell monotonically to background level. Thus ihe anomalous character of the dependence obtained earlier is actually associated with the breakup of Karman eddies from the jaws of the measuring instrument, and laminar flow with increasing magnetic field was attained under conditions of strong flow perturbation.
