Equivalence of the first-order generalized phase shift and first-order time- dependent perturbation treatments of rotational excitation

For atom- rigid rotor scattering in the limit of high initial rotor states, it is shown that the first-order approximation of the GPS treatment is equivalent to first-order time-dependent perturbation theory with the assumption of curved, planar trajectories. (auth)
