FACTORIZATION AND NORMALIZED ITERATIVE METHODS
Paper presented at the Symposium on Boundary Problems in Differential Equations at the University of Wisconsin, Madison April 21, 1959. Iterative methods are described which depend on tho direct solution of matrix equations involving matrices more general than the tnidiagonal type. Solution methods for these approximate equations are given anid standard methods for accelerating convergence applications are described. (J.R.D.)
