Title: Spectroscopic manifestation of mass renormalization in correlated d-Electron metals Ca{sub 1-x}Sr{sub x}VO{sub 3} and Sr{sub 2}RuO{sub 4}

Abstract

Photoemission spectra around the Fermi level (E{sub F}) of both a perovskite-type 3d{sup 1} Mott-Hubbard system Ca{sub 1{minus}x}SrVO{sub 3}, and a recently discovered layered-perovskite superconductor Sr{sub 2}RuO{sub 4} consist of the coherent band near E{sub F} and the precursor of the lower Hubbard band {approximately}2 eV below E{sub F}, which are common features in the quasi-particle spectra of correlated d-electron systems. The spectra give information on mass renormalization principally due to the on-site Coulomb interaction. The analyses of the effective masses in these correlated metals manifest other significant effects: momentum-dependence of the quasi-particle self-energy and hence the long-range exchange or correlation.
