MASS NUMBER VALUES FOR GADOLINIUM WITH HALF-LIFE T$sub 1$2/ = 52 DAYS AND EUROPIUM HALF-LIFE T$sub 1$2/ = 4.3 DAYS

The speetrm of a gadolinium fraction obtained from a deep spallation recaction was studied with a scintillation gamma spectrometer and a gamma -- gamma coincidence scintillation apparatus. Studies of the speetra from 52-day Gd show two gamma lines of 113 and;50 kev in coineidence. The hypothetical decay scheme for 52-day Gd (considering the new- data) and the decay scheme of 4.3 day Eu are presented. Energies of the first excitation level for the even- even parity nuclei of neodymium as a function of neutron number were plotted. (R.V.J.)
