THE TOTAL PROTON REACTION CROSS SECTION OF CARBON FROM 10-68 MeV BY A NEW METHOD
Inelastic interactions in scintillators prcduce a low energy tail in the pulse height spectrum. The fractions of pulses in the tails for protons of various energies are used directly to determine the total reaction cross-section as a function of energy. The method applies only to nuclei in scintillators. Results for carbon are presented for 10 to 68 Mev. (auth)
