A CONVENIENT TRANSFORMER FOR MATCHING COAXIAL LINES
Abstract
A line transformer is described which involves two sections of line each having the impedance of one of the lines to be joined, and arranged so that the three resulting changes of impedance cancel at one frequenct. It is shown that in certain cases the transformer has practical advantages over other types in common use. The bandwidth of the transformer is calculated, and comparison is made with the quarter-wave transformer and with the half-wave taper. (auth)
