PROCESS FOR THE PURIFICATION OF PLUTONIUM SOLUTIONS
Patent
·
OSTI ID:4168753
A process is presented whereby Pu solutions are purified by adsorption of Zr/sub 3/(PO/sub 4/)/sub 4/, BaIO/sub 3/, or zeolite, foll owed by elution. In the example given, the Pu solution was passed at 33 ml/min through 4 g of Zr/ sub 3/(PO/sub 4/)/sub 4/. The desorbing solution to remove fission products was 3.3 1 of 0.1 M H/sub 3/PO/sub 4/ and 2 M HNO/sub 3/.The Pu was removed in 5.8 1 of 7M HNO/sub 3/. (T.R.H.)
