Title: GREEN'S FUNCTION FOR THE INTEGRAL-DIFFERENTIAL OPERATOR OF THE STATIONARY NEUTRON TRANSPORT THEORY (in German)

Journal Article · · Acta Physica Austriaca (Austria)
OSTI ID:4155568

The stationary neutron field in material media can be described by a linear partial inhomogeneous integrodifferential equation. It is treated as a finite system so that one cam formulate an eigenvalue problem in the case of absent foreign source. In the present work the fission neutron number was used as suitable parameter in neutron propagating media. From the neutron balance of the time reversal transport process the adjunct transport equation is obtained. The Green's functions of the transport and adjunct transport equation satisfy a reciprocal relation. The eigen solution fields, connected by an orthogonal relation, of the transport and the adjunct transport equation were used for a formal bilinear series representation of the Green' s function of the transport operator. The Green's function makes pessible an exact formulation of the criterion problem and can serve as initial point for the solution of boundary value problems with inhomogeneous boundary conditions.
