The testes of 9 monkeys were irradiated with gamma radiation from a Co/ sup 60/ source; one testicle from each animal was irradiated while the other served as a control. The testes were then removed and examined. No effects on the frequency of chromosome aberrations were noted following irradiation at doses of 5 to 50 r. However, radiation dosages of 50 to 400 r caused an exponential increase in chromosome aberration frequency. It was concluded that the correlation between radiation dosages and the chromosomal aberrations in primates closely parallels those observed with lower animals and plants. (OTS)
