Study of the different methods of trapping of the ionized additive on the experimental MHD installation U-O2
Abstract
The fission cross sections for $sup 233$U, $sup 235$U, $sup 239$Pu, and $sup 241$Pu reported in 1958 have been revised using the very precise recently published, specific activities 21,405 +- 20 dpm/$mu$g $sup 233$U, 4798.1 +- 3.3 dpm/mg $sup 235$U, and 746.19 +- 0.41 dpm/mg $sup 233$U. Revised ratios of fission cross sections at 2200 m/sec are: $sup 233$ $sup 235$U UALS 9142 +- 0.0012. $sup 239$Pu/$sup 235$U = 1.2876 +- 0.0034, $sup 239$Pu/$sup 233$U = 1.4084 +- 0.0036, and $sup 241$Pu/$sup 239$Pu = 1.3506 +- 0.007. Revised fission cross sections at 2200 m/sec in barns relative to sigma/sub c/($sup 197$Au) = 98.7 +- 0.2 are: sigma/sub f/($sup 233$U) = 527.4 +- 3.1, sigma/sub f/($sup 235$U ) = 576.9 +- 3.4, sigma/sub f/($sup 239$Pu) = 742.8 +- 4.4, and sigma/sub f/($sup 241$Pu) = 1003.3 +- 5.2. The errors do not include g-factor errors of +-0.2 percent for $sup 233$U, +-0.155 percent for $sup 235$U, +-0.285 percent for $sup 239$Pu, and + -0.7 percent for $sup 241$Pu. (auth)
