Title: CHARACTERISTICS OF INTRAPHASE EQUILIBRIUM IN URANYL NITRATE EXTRACTION BY ORGANIC PHOSPHORUS DERIVATIVES CONSIDERING ACTIVITY COEFFICIENTS OF ORGANIC PHASE COMPONENTS. II. EXTRACTION OF URANYL NITRATES BY A MIXTURE OF TRIBUTYL PHOSPHATE WITH DILUENT (in Russian)

Solvent extraction of uranyl nitrate and nitric acid from aqueous solutions by TBP mixtures with chloroform, dichlorethane, carbon tetrachloride, and hexane was studied. An analysis was made of the role of diluents in the uranyl nltrate phase distribution and of the effect of diluents on the activity of organic phase components. It was found thnt the nitric acid extraction coefficient depends on the aqueous phase composition, the concentration of extracting agent, and the nature of the diluent. Harned's coefficients for 4M nitric acid and sodium nitrate were determined on the basis of uranyl nitrate extraction effects. (R.V.J.)
