Scalar-meson dominance model in the decay psi' $Yields$ J + 2$pi$

A scalar-meson dominance model in which the epsilon is coupled derivatively to pions is constructed to study the decay psi'(3684) $Yields$ J(3095) + 2$pi$. This phenomenological approach leads to both an invariant pion mass spectrum in accord with the preliminary results from SLAC and an approximate value of the quark--gluon coupling ($alpha$/sub s/) of 0.2--0.3. We extend the model to include the pion decay modes of the psi''(4150). (AIP)
