Results are presented from measurements of the content of /sup 131/I, /sup 90/Sr, /sup 137/Cs, /sup 89/Sr, and /sup 140/Ba, pled in the United Kingdom during 1982. Data are included on the radioactivity in milk consumed in the Republic of Ireland and flour produced in Australia. The maximum level of /sup 90/Sr in the diet of individuals from selected areas was calculated. Data are included from measurements of /sup 90/Sr and /sup 137/Cs in permanent pastures and experimental studies of factors affecting the uptake of fission products by plants from soil, and tracer studies on the distribution of herbicides in soil.
