Title: PLATING RADIOACTIVE ZINC-65

Journal Article · · Nature
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1038/2011021a0· OSTI ID:4057611

A method is described for plating Zn/sup 65/ on to a cathode. The bath composition is 0.05 g ZnCl/sub 2/, 2g NH/sub 4/Cl, 0.3 g ects of the small amount of nitric acid present in the tracer stock solution may be neglected, since the sodium acetate buffer is sufficient to maintain the proper pH. For electrodes, a platinum anode separated from a cadmium or tin cathode by 1 cm is used. Highest efficiencies are obtained for higher initial concentrations of zinc ion and for current densities near 2 m amp/cm/sup 2/. (P.C.H.)
