Measurement by a mirror probe method of the anisotropy of the electron distribution function of an afterglow plasma confined in a magnetic mirror field

The anisotropy of the electron distribution function of an afterglow plasma produced in a microwave discharge and confined in a magnetic mirror field is studied with the use of a mirror probe method. It is found that the observed distribution indicates the characteristics of the loss-cone distribution function. (AIP)
