Fabrication of prototype circuit boards--from production drawings to completed boards in a few hours

OSTI ID:4007367
This report discusses a proven method for making small quantities of prototype circuit boards in an extremely short time, particularly when compared to the time required using the chemical etching process .By the method discussed, a printed circuit board drawing is converted to an electrically adequate circuit board in a matter of hours by cutting circuit isolation grooves into copper-clad epoxy glass laminate with a pantograph milling machine. A step-by-step description of the process is given, and process capabilities, limitations, and fabrication time estimates are also discussed.
