Title: Measurements of nuclear magnetic moments and electric quadrupole moments of Lu isotopes

Abstract

Nuclear magnetic resonance measurements were performed on the ground states of {sup 169}Lu, {sup 171}Lu, {sup 172}Lu, {sup 173}Lu, and {sup 177}Lu and on the 23/2{sup {minus}} isomeric state {sup 177{ital m}}Lu. The radioactive isotopes were implanted into hcp Co single crystals using the mass separator ISOLDE at CERN. For {sup 169}Lu, {sup 171}Lu, {sup 172}Lu, {sup 173}Lu, and {sup 177}Lu the quadrupole subresonance structure could be resolved well. With the magnetic hyperfine fields and the electric field gradient of Lu{ital Co}(hcp) derived from the results on {sup 177}Lu, the magnetic moments and electric quadrupole moments of {sup 169}Lu, {sup 171}Lu, {sup 172}Lu, and {sup 173}Lu were determined. The nuclear moments of the high-spin isomer {sup 177{ital m}}Lu were determined with a resonance-offset technique. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
