Title: Measurement of the Lifetime of the {ital B{sub s}}{sup {bold 0}} Meson Using the Exclusive Decay Mode {ital B{sub s}}{sup {bold 0}}{bold {r_arrow}}{ital J}{bold /}{ital {psi}{phi}}

The lifetime of the {ital B}{sup 0}{sub {ital s}} meson is measured using the exclusive decay mode {ital B}{sup 0}{sub {ital s}}{r_arrow}{ital J}/{psi}{phi}, where {ital J}/{psi}{r_arrow}{mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup {minus}} and {phi}{r_arrow}{ital K}{sup +}{ital K}{sup {minus}}. The data sample consists of 110 pb{sup {minus}1} of {ital p{bar p}} collisions at {radical}{ital s}=1.8 TeV, collected by the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider during 1992{endash}1995. We find 58{plus_minus}12 signal events, and the {ital B}{sup 0}{sub {ital s}} meson lifetime is determined to be {tau}{sub {ital B}{sup 0}{sub {ital s}}}=1.34{sub {minus}0.19}{sup +0.23}(stat){plus_minus}0.05(syst) ps. This result is consistent with previous measurements of the {ital B}{sup 0}{sub {ital s}}, {ital B}{sup +}, and {ital B}{sup 0}{sub {ital d}} meson lifetimes and with theoretical predictions. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
