Title: Airborne SAR system simulation environment with motion compensation and high processing capabilities

Abstract

This paper presents a brief description of a complete SAR system software simulation environment (SSE). This system has been designed to support the first steps of each SAR development cycle and to be used as an operational exploitation environment of the airborne SAR system, INTASAR. The users have basically two requirements: to make clear SAR operation and theory (concerning hardware and software), and to develop and test their own generation and processing algorithms. Both necessities are already covered. Moreover, a new high precision processing module has been included allowing the operational use of the SSE. The paper describes briefly the whole SSE and it will emphasis the new feature: the Extended Chirp Scaling Processor with motion error correction capabilities. 10 refs., 5 figs.
