A data smoothing technique for piecewise convex/concave curves

We consider a model for reconstructing piecewice convex/concave curves. The model is based on a sequence of least squares fitting problems. Given a set of data and a desired number of convex/concave pieces, the program automatically finds an estimator with the desired geometric shape.
