We describe a technique, based on lifting and projection, for translating our knowledge about the facial structure of the asymmetric traveling salesman (ATS) polytope into knowledge about the facial structure of the cycle polytope of a directed graph, i.e. the convex hull of incidence vectors of all directed cycles. In particular, from every facet of the ATS polytope we obtain one or more facets of the cycle polytope.
