H.R. 3627: This Act may be cited as the Brownfield Community Empowerment Act, introduced in the House of Representatives, One Hundred Fifth Congress, Second Session, April 1, 1998
The purpose of this bill is to assist local governments and local citizens` organizations in the assessment and remediation of brownfield sites, and for other purposes. Attention is focused on the following: Sec. 101. Inventory, assessment, and training and grant program; Sec. 112. Grants for revolving loan programs; Sec. 113. Economic redevelopment grants; Sec. 114. Reports; Sec 115. Limitations on use of funds; Sec. 116 Siting of TSD facilities; Sec. 117. Effect on other laws; Sec. 118. Regulations; Sec. 119. Authorizations of appropriations; Sec 120. Research, development, and demonstration; Sec. 121. Assistance for workforce training; Sec. 122. Worker training and education grants; and Sec. 201. Economic development grants in connection with community development loan guarantees.
