Title: Electroweak corrections to the muon anomalous magnetic moment

Abstract

Bosonic two-loop electroweak radiative corrections to the muon{close_quote}s anomalous magnetic moment, {ital a}{sub {mu}}{equivalent_to}({ital g}{sub {mu}}{minus}2)/2, are presented. We find {Delta}{ital a}{sub {mu}}{sup EW} (2 loop bosonic)/{ital a}{sub {mu}}{sup EW} (1 loop){approx_equal}({alpha}/{pi}){times}[{minus}3.6 ln ({ital M}{sup 2}{sub {ital W}}/{ital m}{sub {mu}}{sup 2})+0.10]{approx_equal}{minus}0.11 for {ital M}{sub Higgs}{approx_equal}250 GeV. Combining that result with our previous two-loop fermionic calculation, we obtain an overall 22.6{percent} reduction in {ital a}{sub {mu}}{sup EW} from 195{times}10{sup {minus}11} to 151(4){times}10{sup {minus}11}. Implications for the full standard model prediction and an upcoming high precision measurement of {ital a}{sub {mu}} are briefly discussed. We also give the two-loop electroweak corrections to the anomalous magnetic moments of electron and tau lepton; they result in a reduction of the one-loop estimates by 35{percent} and 15{percent}, respectively. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
