Structure and properties of NiTi-Hf rapidly solidified high temperature shape memory alloys
Abstract
The NiTi-Hf high temperature shape memory alloys were manufactured using melt-spun method. The microstructure, crystal structure, and mechanical properties of the ribbons have been studied. The results show that the controlling of the composition during the remelting process is a key to produce high quality ribbon. How to avoid the oxidation and reaction with quartz crucible of the alloys needs further study.
