Title: Syntheses and structures of [UO{sub 2}(L){sub 5}](ClO{sub 4}){sub 2} and [U(L′){sub 4}(H{sub 2}O){sub 4}](ClO{sub 4}){sub 4} (L is dimethylformamide, L′ is N,N-dimethylcarbamide)

The reaction of aqueous solutions of uranyl perchlorate with selected organic amides was studied in the dark and under the sunlight. The complexes [U{sup VI}O{sub 2}(C{sub 3}H{sub 7}NO){sub 5}](ClO{sub 4}){sub 2} (I) and [U{sup IV}(C{sub 3}H{sub 8}N{sub 2}O){sub 4}(Н{sub 2}О){sub 4}](ClO{sub 4}){sub 4} (II), where C{sub 3}H{sub 7}NO is N,N-dimethylformamide (Dmfa) and C{sub 3}H{sub 8}N{sub 2}O is N,N-dimethylcarbamide (a-Dmur), were studied by X-ray diffraction. Complex II and the complex U{sup IV}(s-Dmur){sub 4}(Н{sub 2}О){sub 4}(ClO{sub 4}){sub 4} (III), where s-Dmur is N,N'-dimethylcarbamide, were studied by IR spectroscopy. Crystals I and II are composed of mononuclear [UO{sub 2}(Dmfa){sub 5}]{sup 2+} and [U(Dmur){sub 4}(Н{sub 2}О){sub 4}]{sup 4+} groups as uranium-containing structural units belonging to the crystal-chemical groups AМ{sub 7}{sup 1} (А = U{sup VI}, М{sup 1} = O{sup 2–} and Dmfa) and AМ{sub 8}{sup 1} (А = U{sup IV}, М{sup 1} = Dmur and Н{sub 2}О) of uranium complexes, respectively. The mononuclear uranium- containing complexes in the crystals of U(IV) and U(VI) perchlorates were found to obey the 14 neighbors rule.
