Shadow casted by a KonoplyaZhidenko rotating nonKerr black hole
Abstract
We have investigated the shadow of a KonoplyaZhidenko rotating nonKerr black hole with an extra deformation parameter. The spacetime structure arising from the deformed parameter affects sharply the black hole shadow. With the increase of the deformation parameter, the size of the shadow of black hole increase and its shape becomes more rounded for arbitrary rotation parameter. The Dshape shadow of black hole emerges only in the case a <2√3/3\, M with the proper deformation parameter. Especially, the black hole shadow possesses a cusp shape with small eye lashes in the cases with a >M, and the shadow becomes less cuspidal with the increase of the deformation parameter. Our result show that the presence of the deformation parameter yields a series of significant patterns for the shadow casted by a KonoplyaZhidenko rotating nonKerr black hole.

The ChernSimons modification to general relativity in four dimensions consists of adding to the EinsteinHilbert term a scalar field that couples to the firstclass Pontryagin density. In this theory, which has attracted considerable attention recently, the Schwarzschild metric persists as an exact solution, and this is why this model resists several observational constraints. In contrast, the spinning black hole solution of the theory is not given by the Kerr metric but by a modification of it, so far only known for slow rotation and small coupling constant. In the present paper, we show that, in this approximation, the null geodesicmore »

Kerr black hole in equilibrium with a rotating heat bath
The equilibrium and stability of a rotating black hole in a finite heat bath is discussed. An axisymmetric box of radiation in thermal equilibrium rotates rigidly, and some radiation slumps towards the outer wall. When such a heat bath is in equilibrium with a black hole, the temperatures and angular velocities of the hole and the bath are equal. The situation in which the heat bath is in a cylindrical box much larger than the hole, and contains only massless modes, is particularly simple and may be examined in detail. A sufficient condition for the stability of the equilibrium canmore »
Extended solution space for ChernSimons gravity: The slowly rotating Kerr black hole
In the EinsteinCartan formulation, an iterative procedure to find solutions in nondynamical ChernSimons gravity in vacuum is proposed. The iterations, in powers of a small parameter {beta} which codifies the ChernSimons coupling, start from an arbitrary torsionless solution of Einstein equations. With Schwarzschild as the zerothorder choice, we derive a secondorder differential equation for the O({beta}) corrections to the metric, for an arbitrary zerothorder embedding parameter. In particular, the slowly rotating Kerr metric is an O({beta}) solution in either the canonical or the axial embeddings.
ROTATING NONKERR BLACK HOLE AND ENERGY EXTRACTION
The properties of the ergosphere and energy extraction by the Penrose process in a rotating nonKerr black hole are investigated. It is shown that the ergosphere is sensitive to the deformation parameter {epsilon} and the shape of the ergosphere becomes thick as parameter {epsilon} increases. It is of interest to note that, compared with the Kerr black hole, the deformation parameter {epsilon} can enhance the maximum efficiency of the energy extraction process greatly. Especially for the case of a > M, the nonKerr metric describes a superspinning compact object and the maximum efficiency can exceed 60%, while it is onlymore »
