Title: Improving the Investment Potential of the Evenkiiskaya HPP When Working Jointly with HPPS of the Volga – Kama Cascade

Abstract

The capability is studied of improving the investment potential of the Evenkiiskaya HPP by using the power it generates in the United Power System of the European part of Russia by transitioning to a compensated electrical regime of water reservoir resource usage. A quantitative assessment of Evenkiiskaya HPP usage is presented using daily load demand. Increasing the guaranteed HPP power is proposed as an alternative to new nuclear power stations.

  • It has long been recognized that the source beds of the petroleum produced from clastic reservoirs in the Volga-Ural province (including the supergiant Romashkino field) are the organic-rich fine-grained argillaceous-siliceous limestones known as domanikites. Geochemical studies presented in this work substantiate the relationship. The monograph summarizes the geologic conditions under which the domanikites and related rocks were deposited in a shelf environment which has analogs in many other parts of the world. Further, the beds are recognized as an attractive exploration target in their own right, especially where primary porosity and permeability are enhanced by fracturing and solution. The authorsmore » select the more highly prospective areas and suggest procedures to be used in exploration and testing. The paper consists of four parts: (1) Geology and Conditions of Deposition of Domanikoid Associations by E.G. Semenova, G.E. Golodovkina, E.Ya. Surovikov, and M.I. Zaydelson; (2) Geochemical Conditions of Formation of the Domanikoid Associations by S.Ya. Vaynbaum, N.A. Koprova, and V.A. Bellerova; (3) Reservoir Properties of the Domanikoid Associations and Ways of Improving Their Study by Geophysical Well Logging by M.I. Zaydelson, E.A. Zinina, and L.Z. • Estimates are made of the pore and pore-channel parameters and tortuosity coefficients for carbonate and terrigenous reservoirs from the Perm region by means of direct statistical studies on thin sections and data from indirect methods (capillary and electrical measurement). The results from the various methods are compared, particularly as regards the correlation of the structural parameters with the permeability. The probable values of the structural parameters are identified for various permeability classes.
