Title: Magnetic moment of the majorana neutrino in the left-right symmetric model

Abstract

Corrections to the neutrino magnetic dipole moment from the singly charged Higgs bosons h{sup ({+-})} and {delta}-tilde{sup (}{+-}) were calculated within the left-right symmetric model involving Majorana neutrinos. It is shown that, if the h{sup ({+-})} and {delta}-tilde{sup (}{+-}) bosons lie at the electroweak scale, the contributions from Higgs sector are commensurate with the contribution of charged gauge bosons or may even exceed it. The behavior of the neutrino flux inmatter and in amagnetic field was studied. It was found that resonance transitions between light and heavy neutrinos are forbidden.

  • In gauge models with a bigger number of Higgs particles their couplings to fermions are more complicated than in the standard model. The influence of the Higgs boson exchange on the neutrino production cross section in {ital e}{sup {minus}}{ital e}{sup +} collisions ({ital e}{sup {minus}}{ital e}{sup +}{r_arrow}{nu}{ital N}) is investigated. Our study is done in the framework of the left-right symmetric model with the rich Higgs sector containing a bidoublet and two triplets. The couplings of the Higgs particles even to light leptons can be as large as the gauge boson couplings. The total effect of the Higgs bosons ismore » small as a result of the large Higgs boson mass in the propagators.« less
  • The production of light and heavy ([nu][ital N]) and two heavy neutrinos ([ital NN]) in [ital e][sup +][ital e[minus]] collisions is investigated. The heavy neutrinos which appear naturally in the left-right-symmetric models are considered. The correlation between heavy gauge boson masses, masses of heavy neutrinos, and elements of the mixing matrices in the charged and neutral currents are taken into account. For comparison, two cases where the neutrinos are either Majorana or Dirac particles are studied. However, only Majorana neutrinos appear naturally in the studied version of a [ital L]-[ital R]-symmetric model. New bounds on the mass of heavy neutrinosmore » from CERN LEP I, and the correlation between masses of the charged gauge bosons and heavy Majorana neutrinos which follows from the lack of neutrinoless double-[beta] decay, are included. The conclusion about production of heavy Majorana neutrinos from the [ital L]-[ital R] model in future [ital e][sup +][ital e[minus]] colliders (LEP II, NLC) is less optimistic compared with previous investigations. In the case of two Dirac neutrino production ([ital NN]) the cross section is larger than in the Majorana case.« less
  • In the left-right symmetric models without bi-doublet Higgs scalars, the standard model fermions can obtain masses by integrating out heavy charged singlet fermions. We find the decays of heavy neutral singlet fermions, responsible for generating small neutrino masses, can simultaneously produce a left-handed lepton asymmetry for baryon asymmetry and a relic density of right-handed neutrinos for dark matter. Benefiting from the left-right symmetry, the properties of dark matter can be related to the generation of neutrino masses and baryon asymmetry. We also indicate that the decays of the nonthermally produced right-handed neutrinos can explain the observed fluxes of 511 keVmore » photons from the Galactic bulge.« less
  • We study the possibility of generating tiny Dirac masses of neutrinos in Left-Right Symmetric Model (LRSM) without requiring the existence of any additional symmetries. The charged fermions acquire masses through a universal seesaw mechanism due to the presence of additional vector like fermions. The neutrinos acquire a one-loop Dirac mass from the same additional vector like charged leptons without requiring any additional discrete symmetries. The model can also be extended by an additional Z {sub 2} symmetry in order to have a scotogenic version of this scenario predicting a stable dark matter candidate. We show that the latest Planck uppermore » bound on the effective number of relativistic degrees of freedom N {sub eff}=3.15 ┬▒ 0.23 tightly constrains the right sector gauge boson masses to be heavier than 3.548 TeV . This bound on gauge boson mass also affects the allowed values of right scalar doublet dark matter mass from the requirement of satisfying the Planck bound on dark matter relic abundance. We also discuss the possible implications of such a scenario in charged lepton flavour violation and generating observable electric dipole moment of leptons.« less
  • We present a detailed and complete calculation of the doubly charged Higgsino contribution to the decays {mu}{r_arrow}e{gamma} and {mu}{r_arrow}3e and to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon {Delta}a{sub {mu}} within the left-right supersymmetric model. We include the mixing of the scalar partners of the left- and right-handed leptons, and show that it leads to a strong enhancement of the decay modes in certain scenarios. We find that the contribution of the doubly charged Higgsino can be close to the known experimental values and is reachable by future experiments. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
