Theoretical and experimental investigations were made of temperature-independent ('uncritical') phase matching for second-harmonic generation. It was found experimentally that the bandwidth of the temperature phase-matching tuning curve for a potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) crystal 7.7 mm long was 210{sup 0}C at the fundamental radiation wavelength of 1064.2 nm.
