Title: Sum rule analyses for the light quark masses revisited

Abstract

We explore existing sum rule analyses of the u, d and s quark masses. We argue that certain assumptions about the behavior of unmeasured continuum scalar and pseudoscalar spectral functions can lead to significant overestimates of these masses, and illustrate the source of the problem in the analogous isovector vector channel.
