Abstract

Radiative leptonic decays of the pseudoscalar mesons are studied in the bilocal relativistic potential model. Partial and total widths of the pion decay are calculated. It is shown that, in the model under consideration, the decay widths can be determined by calculating the vector (f{sub v}) and axial-vector (f{sub a}) form factors. These form factors can be found by jointly solving the Salpeter and Schwinger-Dyson equations with a specified interquark potential.

Weak leptonic decays of light and heavy pseudoscalar mesons are studied in a field-theoretic framework based on the independent quark model with a scalar-vector harmonic potential. Defining the quark-antiquark momentum distribution amplitude obtainable from the bound quark eigenmodes of the model with the assumption of a strong correlation between quark-antiquark momenta inside the decaying meson in its rest frame, we derive the partial decay width with correct kinematical factors from which we extract an expression for the pseudoscalar decay constants [ital f][sub [ital M]]. Scalar-pseudoscalar meson masses in nonlocal effective QCD at finite temperature

The Schwinger-Dyson equation for the quark propagator and the Bethe-Salpeter equations for the quark-meson vertex functions are derived within nonlocal effective QCD in the quark sector using functional integral techniques at finite temperature. We apply the approach for separable instantaneous interactions and derive mass formulas for the scalar and pseudoscalar mesons. The pion mass obeys the Goldstone theorem. Electromagnetic form factors of light vector mesons

The electromagnetic form factors G{sub E}(q{sup 2}), G{sub M}(q{sup 2}), and G{sub Q}(q{sup 2}), charge radii, magnetic and quadrupole moments, and decay widths of the light vector mesons {rho}{sup +},K{sup {asterisk}+}, and K{sup {asterisk}0} are calculated in a Lorentz-covariant, Dyson-Schwinger-equation-based model using algebraic quark propagators that incorporate confinement, asymptotic freedom, and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking, and vector-meson Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes closely related to the pseudoscalar amplitudes obtained from phenomenological studies of {pi} and {ital K} mesons. Pseudoscalar and vector mesons as q{ovr q} bound states.

Two-body bound states such as mesons are described by solutions of the Bethe-Salpeter equation. We discuss recent results for the pseudoscalar and vector meson masses and leptonic decay constants, ranging from pions up to c{bar c} bound states. Our results are in good agreement with data. Essential in these calculation is a momentum-dependent quark mass function, which evolves from a constituent-quark mass in the infrared region to a current quark mass in the perturbative region.
