Group equations for moments of the relativistic electron distribution function in a cold gas of neutral atomic particles in an external electric field
Abstract
A set of multigroup equations is derived for the first three moments of the distribution function for highenergy electrons in a gas of immobile atomic particles. The equations are intended for numerical simulation of processes in a dense weakly ionized plasma with the participation of highenergy electrons, including runaway electrons.

Relativistic electron distribution function of a plasma in a nearcritical electric field
A corrected relativistic collision operator is used to derive a FokkerPlanck equation for the distribution function of relativistic suprathermal electrons in a weakly relativistic plasma, which is then solved by a procedure similar to that employed in Connor and Hastie [Nucl. Fusion 15, 415 (1975)]. Analytical expressions are derived for the electron distribution function in plasmas with the electric field close to critical, which is typical of plasmas with grassy sawteeth on the Joint European Torus. A numerical solution is used for determining the normalization constant, which matches the relativistic region onto the weakly relativistic region. It is found thatmore »
Selforganised aggregation of a pair of particles with different resonant frequencies and electric dipole moments of transitions, controlled by an external quasiresonant field
The influence of the oscillation phases of the dipole moments induced in metal nanoparticles and quantum dots by an external laser field on their interaction energy is considered. It is shown that a difference in resonant frequencies leads to the formation of additional minima and maxima, which are absent in the spectral dependence of the interaction energy of identical particles at similar orientations of the pair of particles with respect to the plane of polarisation of radiation. These features are due to the fact that the oscillation phase difference of the induced dipole moments of particles reaches values close tomore »
