Title: HAWC: A next generation all-sky gamma-ray telescope

Abstract

HAWC will have unprecedented sensitivity for a ground-based particle detector array. It will be capable of observing the Crab at the 5{sigma} level with each transit while simultaneously observing the entire northern sky with {approx}15 times the sensitivity of the Milagro detector. The design and performance of the HAWC water Cherenkov gamma-ray observatory is presented.
