Influence of V{sub 2}O{sub 5} as an effective dopant on the microstructure development and magnetic properties of Ni{sub 0.64}Zn{sub 0.36}Fe{sub 2}O{sub 4} soft ferrites
Abstract
This paper focuses on the effect of vanadium oxide (V{sub 2}O{sub 5}) on the magnetic properties and microstructural development of Ni{sub 0.64}Zn{sub 0.36}Fe{sub 2}O{sub 4} soft ferrite. The ferrite was doped with V{sub 2}O{sub 5}, in the range from 0 to 3.2 wt.% in steps of 0.4 wt.%. The results show that increasing the amount of this oxide up to a certain percentage (1.6 wt.%), the permeability, relative density and grain size initially increase and then decrease. The specific resistivity of samples increases continuously. Also the measurements indicate that the Curie temperature and saturation magnetization show peak values at 0.8 wt.% and 1.2 wt.% of V{sub 2}O{sub 5}, respectively.
