Low lying states of the unbound 9He system were investigated by means of the (d,p) reaction. A cryogenic deuterium target was bombarded by a secondary 8He beam. Complete kinematics measurements were accomplished. The observed 9He states are broad and overlapping. Their spins and parities have been unambiguously determined. Data from a 6He({alpha},2{alpha})2n experiment have been analyzed in terms of a quasi-free scattering approach. A large effect of the 2n final state interaction on the internal 6He momentum distribution has been demonstrated.
