Title: Insertion Devices for the PETRA III Storage Ring

After reconstruction, 8 straight sections will be available for installation of undulators in PETRA III at DESY. Five of these straights will be split up into two parts separated by a 5mrad bend giving space for totally 13 undulators of 2m or 5m length. Additionally, one long straight section will be available to accommodate a 20m long device. A common development of planar undulators for both, the PETRA III and the XFEL project has been started recently. First devices, which will be available in the near future, are expected to meet the more demanding requirements regarding specification and performance of either project. Besides, a quasi-periodic undulator with shifted higher harmonics and an APPLE2 device generating circular polarized light in the VUV region are in the design phase.
