New BornInfeld and Dpbrane actions under 2metric and 3metric prescriptions
Abstract
The parent action method is utilized to the BornInfeld and Dpbrane theories. Various new forms of BornInfeld and Dpbrane actions are derived by using this systematic approach, in which both the already known 2metric and newly proposed 3metric prescriptions are considered. An auxiliary worldvolume tensor field, denoted by {omega}{sub {mu}}{sub {nu}}, is introduced and treated probably as an additional worldvolume metric because it plays a similar role to that of the auxiliary worldvolume (also called intrinsic) metric {gamma}{sub {mu}}{sub {nu}}. Some properties, such as duality, permutation and Weyl invariance as a local worldvolume symmetry of the new forms are analyzed. In particular, a new symmetry, i.e. the double Weyl invariance is discovered in 3metric forms.

Note on DiracBornInfeld dynamics of the Dbrane near NS5branes
In this note, we investigate the homogeneous radial dynamics of (Dp, NS5) systems without and with one compactified transverse direction, in the framework of DiracBornInfeld effective action. During the homogeneous evolution, the electric field on the Dbrane is always conserved and the radial motion could be reduced to a onedimension dynamical system with an effective potential. When the Dpbrane energy is not high, the brane moves in a restricted region, with the orbits depending on the conserved energy, angular momentum through the form of the effective potential. When the Dpbrane energy is high enough, it can escape to infinity. Itmore » 
Comparing infrared DiracBornInfeld brane inflation to observations
We compare the infrared DiracBornInfeld brane inflation model to observations using a Bayesian analysis. The current data cannot distinguish it from the {lambda}CDM model but is able to give interesting constraints on various microscopic parameters including the mass of the brane moduli potential, the fundamental string scale, the charge or warp factor of throats, and the number of the mobile branes. We quantify some distinctive testable predictions with stringy signatures, such as the large nonGaussianity, and the large, but regional, running of the spectral index. These results illustrate how we may be able to probe aspects of string theory usingmore » 
Anisotropy in BornInfeld brane cosmology
The accelerated expansion of the Universe together with its present day isotropy has posed an interesting challenge to the numerous model theories presented over the years to describe them. In this paper, we address the above questions in the context of a braneworld model where the Universe is filled with BornInfeld matter. We show that in such a model, the Universe evolves from a highly anisotropic state to its present isotropic form, which has entered an accelerated expanding phase. 
DiracBornInfeld actions and tachyon monopoles
We investigate magnetic monopole solutions of the nonAbelian DiracBornInfeld (DBI) action describing two coincident nonBPS D9branes in flat space. Just as in the case of kink and vortex solitonic tachyon solutions of the full DBI nonBPS actions, as previously analyzed by Sen, these monopole configurations are singular in the first instance and require regularization. We discuss a suitable nonAbelian ansatz that describes a pointlike magnetic monopole and show it solves the equations of motion to leading order in the regularization parameter.
