An approach to translate Smalltalk-80-programs into corresponding C-programs is described. We have designed and implemented a tool (S2C(LOS)C) in Smalltalk-80 that translates Smalltalk-80-code into CLOS-code. By using an existing compiler tool (Clicc) translating CLOS-code into C-code we can show a principal way how to generate corresponding C-code for Smalltalk-80-programs. In this paper the ideas behind the S2C(LOS)C-cool are described.
