Title: New compounds Cu{sub 2}MnTi{sub 3}S{sub 8} and Cu{sub 2}NiTi{sub 3}S{sub 8} with thiospinel structure

Abstract

Cu{sub 2}MnTi{sub 3}S{sub 8} and Cu{sub 2}NiTi{sub 3}S{sub 8} compounds were prepared by high-temperature synthesis. The crystal structure of these quaternary phases was investigated by X-rawder diffraction. The compounds are described in the thiospinel structure (space group Fd3-bar m) with the lattice constants a=1.00353(1)nm (Cu{sub 2}MnTi{sub 3}S{sub 8}) and a=0.99716(1)nm (Cu{sub 2}NiTi{sub 3}S{sub 8}). The atomic parameters were calculated in anisotropic approximation (R{sub I}=0.0456 and R{sub I}=0.0520 for Cu{sub 2}MnTi{sub 3}S{sub 8} and Cu{sub 2}NiTi{sub 3}S{sub 8}, respectively)
