The 10.8 m-long undulator (LU) has been installed at the 13.4 m straight section of the NewSUBARU storage ring. A monochromator beamline was constructed in the downstream of the undulator, and radiation from the LU was characterized. The radiation axis of LU was determined with a cross-wire beam position monitor. The resolution of the VLS-PGM-type monochromator was evaluated by measuring the ionization spectrum of Kr gas. The resolution was at least over 1000, and the expected performance was obtained. Dipole-error fields and the effect of a geomagnetic field were successfully corrected using air-core correction coils. The spectral linewidth of the first harmonic radiation, E/dE, was obtained as about 75. The peak intensity of the first harmonic radiation was the same order of magnitude as the theoretical calculation.
