Title: Half-life of {sup 232}Pu and excitation function for the {sup 233}U ({sup 3}He,4n){sup 232}Pu reaction

Abstract

The excitation function for the {sup 233}U ({sup 3}He,4n){sup 232}Pu reaction was measured. The maximum production cross section is 6.2{+-}1.5 {mu}b at 32.5{+-}2.2 MeV. The plutonium fraction was chemically separated from interfering activities. The {sup 232}Pu half-life was determined to be 33.1{+-}0.8 min using the interference-free data obtained from {alpha}-{alpha} correlations of daughter activities in equilibrium with the {sup 232}Pu decay.
