Title: Improvement of the performance characteristics of a linear parametric motor with open magnetic circuit

Abstract

This paper describes the structure and the performance characteristics of a linear parametric motor with open magnetic circuit. The static thrust F{sub s} is increased approximately 17% by placing an iron plate having the most suitable dimensions on the magnetic poles.
