Voluntary Consensus Standards (VCSs) - Purpose and Process

The National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act (NTTAA) of 1995 mandates that all federal agencies use technical standards developed and adopted by voluntary consensus standards bodies, as opposed to developing unique government standards.
