Title: R&D with NREL's Davison Circulating Riser (DCR) System

Abstract

The Thermal and Catalytic Process Development Unit at NREL has state-of-the-art equipment for thermochemical process development and testing, ranging from catalyst and feedstock characterizations to bench-scale reactors to pilot plants. Within this facility is the Davison Circulating Riser System, a lab-scale recirculating riser reactor system coupled with a custom pyrolyzer that evaluates biomass- and waste-derived vapors and liquids into fuels and chemicals. This fact sheet summarizes the capabilities of this reactor system.
